Now the town has a chance to buy 24 acres of land with some of the best views of the Boston skyline, the harbor and, on a clear day, Cape Ann.

Mayor Sue Kay said the owners of the property off Commercial Street in Weymouth Heights have accepted the town’s offer to buy the land for $1.9 million using Community Preservation Act money. Now it’s up to the town council to OK the purchase or let it go on the open market.
