7 million from state speeds duneland payoff

The 171 acres of duneland in Saugatuck Township bought for public access last year could be paid off a year earlier than planned thanks to a change in state funding. The Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Board Wednesday approved $7 million for the Saugatuck Harbor Natural Area. The amount is equal to the expected $3.5 million the trust fund was set to pay for 2011 and 2012.
