750 Acres Now Preserved in Antrim County

A northern Michigan community has an extra-something to celebrate heading in to the New Year: hundreds of acres now locked into a land preservation deal. December 27, 2010 It's happening just a mile outside of Bellaire, in Antrim County. Now thanks to large land donations by two area families, the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy was able to help the township and county secure the land for public use. Megan Olds with the GTRLC says, "there have been several fragmented parcels that Antrim County and Forest Home Township have been protecting over the years. This project really makes those lands contiguous now, about 750 acres available for public recreation."
