Highland land sale is link in chain for trail plan

A plan by Oakland County officials to connect county parks with trailways moved a step forward recently with the purchase of a strip of land abutting Highland Oaks. September 09, 2010 The county bought the parcel, which measures nearly five acres, from the Highland Equestrian Conservancy for $10,000 — the same price the HEC paid when it bought the land in 2009 with grant money from the Breyer/Equine Land Conservation Resource. The property measures nearly five acres and runs from the northwest corner of Highland Oaks to Munger Road, about a half-mile from the park.
