County completes purchase of 35 acres of Seeman ranch

Douglas County recently purchased 35 acres of flood plain and open space from the Dean Seeman Trust. The property, part of the former Seeman Ranch located just north and directly behind the Carson Valley Inn in Minden, will provide open space and an essential link for the planned Martin Slough Trail, which will connect Jakes's Wetland in Minden to Lampe Park in Gardnerville by a pathway adjacent to the slough, said Lisa Granahan, Douglas County economic vitality manager.
