Couple preserves 500 acres

Thanks to one local couple, hundreds of acres of untouched land in West Keene will stay that way. The recent purchase of a 500-plus-acre parcel of land on West Hill by a Keene couple should help to close a gap in protected lands in that area, said Ryan M. Owens, executive director of the Monadnock Conservancy. June 12, 2011 “I was thrilled to hear that they struck a deal, and that their intentions were to work with us,” Owens said Friday. “This is a model of conservation that’s becoming increasingly common.”
