Cape May gets $450000 to help create 38 acre park

Plans to create a 38-acre park on the north side of town got a boost this week with a $450,000 grant from the state Green Acres Program. May 25, 2011 The city will match the grant, for a total of $900,000 — but it also plans to apply next year, aiming to double the amount and amass $1.8 million for the project. The first step is to acquire the land and amenities, including three basketball courts, nature trails, picnic pavilions, bocce and shuffleboard courts and a soccer field.
