Pilesgrove continues effort to find funding to preserve 84 acre tract

Township officials are moving forward with a process to preserve a roughly 84-acre piece of property located adjacent to Marlton Park here, by continuing to seek grants to help offset the debt the township still owes on the property.

According to Mayor Kevin Eachus, township committee recently decided that it will seek to preserve the land in its entirety, rather than setting aside a portion of the property to meet future affordable housing obligations.

“We’ll explore different options for affordable housing in the future,” said Eachus. “Communications have already started on different options. This plan was for over the next 8 years, so we’ll be talking to different organizations on, if we need affordable housing in the future, how we can work together.”
