Hatch annexes 300 acres for Spaceport welcome center

A Hatch village expansion OK'd this week set the stage for future economic development and the possible location there of a Spaceport America welcome center, the town's mayor said Thursday. Village trustees, in a special meeting, gave the final approval for a 300-acre annexation - not 150 acres as previously reported - that extends village boundaries east, beyond the Rio Grande and Interstate 25.
