The land along Rockaway Valley Road, known as Ellinwood Forrest, was purchased for $1.2 million on March 30 as a partnership between several agencies: $850,000 came from the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders through a Morris County Preservation Trust Fund grant; the Morris County Park Commission provided $150,000; and $200,000 in New Jersey Green Acres funding came via Boonton Township and the Trust for Public Land, according to a prepared statement from the Trust for Public Land.
