Taos County mulls options in million dollar land purchase

Taos County continues to weigh its options concerning the purchase of a few acres across from its brand new complex for more than $300,000 an acre. The 5.7-acre property is owned by Joel and Patricia Perovich, who have been leasing it to the county for $121,000 since January 2009. That contract is a lease/option to purchase agreement that ends January 31, 2012, and the county must now decide if it wants to buy the land.
