Clifton Park gets riverfront land

The town will save 41 acres of heavily wooded land that includes property along the Mohawk River and a 2-acre pond from being turned into a housing development. Once a camp for a pioneering engineer for General Electric, Charles Steinmetz, the land will be opened up for boating and fishing. The town board agreed Monday to buy the land for $300,000 from the estate of Amelia Lupe.
