County to buy development rights on Riverhead sod farm for $3.28 million

Suffolk County is acquiring the development rights on a 55-acre sod farm in Riverhead for $3.28 million. The Suffolk County Legislature yesterday approved the purchase of the 55-acre DiLalio Sod Farm site on the west side County Route 105, just north of the Riverhead Fire Department's training facility on Route 105 and Northville Turnpike.
