State could bail out Lake George Land Conservancy by buying its mountains

he state has entered negotiations with the Lake George Land Conservancy for the purchase of Cat and Thomas mountains in Bolton. Michael Bopp, a spokesman for the state Department Environmental Conservation, said Wednesday state officials have agreed to consider buying the 1,850-acre tract.
