250 acre tract sold in Wake Forest

When it was conceived more than four years ago, Holding Village was envisioned as infill development that would contrast with the more expansive suburban projects that dotted much of Wake Forest. August 25, 2011 Occupying a 250-acre dairy farm near the town's historic downtown, Holding Village called for 48,000 square feet of shops surrounded by up to 1,350 apartments and single-family homes. Last week, the Holding family sold the property to a Pennsylvania land fund for $8 million. The deal reflects both the near-term caution and the long-term optimism now permeating the Triangle housing market.
