390 acres to be added to Carvers Creek park

Carvers Creek State Park north of Fayetteville and the Sandhills Game Land in Scotland County are gaining hundreds of acres with help from the Nature Conservancy. July 15, 2011 On July 1, the land preservation organization purchased 390 acres to add to the eastern part of Carvers Creek, said Ryan Elting, the conservancy's Sandhills program director. The conservancy is paying private landowners $1.6 million for the property, Elting said.
