The buyer, Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Co., has no immediate plans to develop the 18.4-acre tract off West Morehead and South Clarkson streets, which sits just north of a Charlotte Pipe plant. Charlotte Pipe has a longstanding practice of buying land near its industrial operations, mostly for investment purposes, company spokesman Brad Muller said Monday.
