Key land donation made along Eno River

Hiking and environmental enthusiasts are applauding the donation of private land in Orange County that will allow completion of a section of the N.C. Mountains-to-Sea Trail through the Eno River State Park and provide critical ecological and resource protection of rare mussels. January 03, 2011 "We are excited to have completed this acquisition just in time for the New Year," said Robin Jacobs, executive director of the Eno River Association. "It closes a gap in the Mountains-to-Sea Trail corridor along the Eno River, and we appreciate all that the Links have done to make it possible. We plan to celebrate with our friends and supporters at this week's New Year's Day Hike."
