Purchase of land for new New Hanover County park approved

It was a night of celebration and change, but the New Hanover County commissioners still made some big decisions, including approving the purchase of new park land in Castle Hayne. December 06, 2010 On Monday, commissioners Brian Berger and Rick Catlin were sworn in and took their seats on the board, replacing outgoing commissioners Bobby Greer and Bill Caster. The new board then voted to install Commissioner Jonathan Barfield Jr. as chairman and Commissioner Jason Thompson as vice chairman.
