First Solar buys 5 acres

First Solar Inc. has bought a five-acre parcel near its Perrysburg Township plant that will allow the solar panel manufacturer to expand the facility. The property was purchased for $1.125 million this month. Spokesman Alan Bernheimer said there are no imminent growth plans for the plant, which has been expanded at least three times in recent years and has more than 1,100 employees.
