New park for city Summit County Metro Parks land includes 41 acres in Streetsboro

Metro Parks, Serving Summit County, will have a second park in the city after it purchased more than 137 acres for $2.2 million from the TenBroeck family on May 27. June 08, 2011 The park is in the Tinker's Creek headwaters on the eastern border of Hudson, with the widest portion between Hudson-Aurora Road and extending just below the Ohio Turnpike. The majority of the land, 96 acres, is in Hudson, with 41 acres in Streetsboro in Portage County. The property will be a conservation area and an important ecological resource, according to Neal Hess, chief of special projects at Metro Parks, serving Summit County. However, it may be several years before the park is developed, he added.
