Spring Hill Farm turned over to city by Trust for Public Land

The anticipated preservation of the 153-acre Spring Hill Farm on East Pioneer Trail in Aurora has been completed, according to Matthew Shaffer of the Trust for Public Land. June 08, 2011 The city will manage it as a recreational area and nature preserve. Other entities in the transaction are the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District and Ohio EPA. The property was the original homestead of Aurora's first settler, Ebenezer Sheldon, and adjoins the 165-acre Audubon Society's Aurora sanctuary and 100-acre Chagrin Headwaters reserve.
