The much-anticipated deal has been signed to conserve 1,270 acres near Mount Pisgah southeast of Eugene-Springfield, completing perhaps the biggest land offer to Lane County government in 30 years, an official said Monday. November 02, 2010 With the closing of The Nature Conservancy’s $23.4 million purchase from the Wildish family of Eugene, officials will start the long task of restoring to natural conditions land mined for decades for sand and gravel.
