Conservancy acquires 36 acre parcel in Cook Township

The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy yesterday acquired what it termed "high-priority land" in the Ligonier Valley, including several small wetlands and 1,900 feet of stream frontage along Loyalhanna Creek. February 15, 2011 The newly conserved, 36-acre parcel in Cook Township lies close to 3,000 acres of conserved land within the upper Loyalhanna Creek watershed. The Conservancy's purchase fulfills a long-term conservation priority of further protecting this scenic section of the Laurel Highlands and Loyalhanna Creek.
