Grant helps 152 acre land deal

An effort by a local conservation group will protect the water and wildlife of a scenic area bordering Rothrock State Forest. ClearWater Conservancy is spending about $700,000 to buy 152 acres of land that’s part of the Galbraith Gap area in Harris Township. The nonprofit plans to turn the property over to the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Bureau of Forestry to be incorporated into the state forest.
