Berkeley council OKs $1.6M land deal

Berkeley County will spend $1.6 million for a chunk of land for new government offices, council narrowly decided Monday night. March 01, 2011 The 5-4 vote followed a lengthy debate that pitted those who argued it's time for the county to move forward against those who said it's irresponsible to spend money upgrading offices in an economy like this.
