County air station to preserve 63 acres

The 63-acre Ihly Farm will remain rural forever, thanks to a new conservation easement that officials say will help protect the environment and Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort. December 02, 2010 Beaufort County and the U.S. Department of Defense led the effort to preserve the property along McCauley Creek east of U.S. 21 and south of Whale Branch Creek, according to a county news release.
