Land deal will expand Crooked Creek Park

Crooked Creek Park near Chapin is about to grow. The Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission has agreed to buy 55.07 acres near the park for $20,000 an acre. The commission voted at its August meeting to make an offer on the four parcels between Eptings Camp Road and Old Bush River Road. The sellers have agreed to the price. The recreation agency is still in the due diligence stage, meaning it can back out if problems arise before the contracts are signed.
