10600 Acre Camp Cooley Ranch Fetches $28.5M

Circle X Land and Cattle has paid $28.5 million for the 10,600-acre Camp Cooley Ranch, scooping up the deed at auction. The asset boasts a 1,000-acre exotic game preserve frequented by hunting aficionados, such as the late President Lyndon Johnson and Texas Gov. John Connally. September 15, 2011 Twenty-two bidders vied for the ranch at the private auction, conducted by Hall and Hall Auctions of Billings, Mont. The deal included the property's surface and mineral/royalty rights. Equipment and personal property were sold in a separate transaction.
