Texoma to feature a multitude of educational seminars including CEU credits
Cygnus Expositions, a division of Cygnus Business Media, announces the educational meeting schedule for this year's 2008 Texoma Farm & Ranch Show. The 14th Annual Texoma Farm & Ranch show will be held Feb. 15 and 16 at the Multi-Purpose Events Center in Wichita Falls, Texas. With free admission, more than 125 exhibiting companies, educational seminars, free ride-n-drives, and new show hours, the Texoma Farm & Ranch is the event to fulfill all your farming and ranching needs.
The 2008 educational seminars begin Feb. 15 with the Grower's Breakfast at 7 a.m., sponsored by First Ag Credit and AgriPro Wheat. At 9 a.m., receive 3 CEUs at the Rangeland Brush Management Seminar featuring J.F. Cadenhead, Extension range specialist, Gerald Hobson and Casey Mattke. The 1 p.m. presentation highlights Landowner Liability, Hunting and Mineral Leases and Pipeline Negations by Judon Fambrough, Texas Real Estate Center. At 2 p.m., come hear Brandon Winters from Producers Cooperative Oil Mill speak on Oil Seed Production and Process. Follow the 2 p.m. presentation with the Wildlife Nutrition Management Workshop at 3 p.m., by a Purina Mills nutritionist. Wrap up the first day of seminars at 4 p.m., with Private Applicator Certification Training for TDA License Testing with Miles Dabovich, Wichita CEA Ag.
Day number two of seminars, Feb. 16, kicks off with three exciting and informational presentations beginning at 9 a.m. Dr. Pete Gibbs and Dennis Sigler present the dynamic Mare/Foal Clinic highlighting a variety of topics ranging from body condition to feeding management solutions and much more. Tara McKnight and Peg Marquardt from Wichita County present Rainwater Harvesting at 9 a.m.; and don't forget the Wheat Production Seminar, worth 3 CEUs, featuring Tillage Practice of Grain and Dual-Purpose Wheat, Wheat Disease Management, and Rolling Plains Wheat Update and Insect Management. The 1 p.m. presentations include two stimulating seminars: the Wildlife Nutrition Management Workshop by a Purina Mills Nutritionist and a Live Cattle Presentation, sponsored by Linn Post & Pipe, Inc., by Dr. Ron Gill, Texas A&M Extension specialist. Conclude the educational seminars with Testing for Private Pesticide Applicator Licenses by Henry Krueskoph from the Texas Department of Agriculture.
The 2008 education meetings are sponsored by the Wichita County Agricultural Extension Service and the Texas Cooperative Extension Service.
