Austin to consider buying 611 acres for conservation

The Austin City Council may buy 611 acres in Southwest Austin for $11.5 million for conservation. August 15, 2011 The initiative to acquire Southern Avaña in the Barton Springs/Edwards Aquifer recharge zone will be considered at the Aug. 18 City Council meeting.
