Each year, the dwarf bear poppy plant sheds its 300 blossoms in a struggle to spread its seeds across southern Utah's Mohave desert. March 22, 2011 The endangered green shrub-like plant with its four-petal white and yellow flowers has had a hard time in this harsh environment, battling for survival against severe weather and strip mining. The flower blooms nowhere else but in this unique desert soil.
