775 acre Spruce Peak added to National Forest

An additional 775 acres of the Taconic Range have been added to the Green Mountain National Forest in the Arlington area. June 29, 2011 The land, known as Spruce Peak, was purchased by the Conservation Fund on Monday for $471,000 from Meadowsend Timber, according to Nancy Bell, Vermont director for the Conservation Fund. The land was then immediately transferred to the Green Mountain National Forest, she said.
