Rupert couple conserves 92 acres of farmland

Two Rupert veterinarians and active conservationists conserved another 92 acres of farmland through the Vermont Land Trust this week. January 02, 2012 Jean and Eugene Ceglowski took another step in preserving wilderness by donating a perpetual conservation easement on 92 acres adjacent to their home farm, the land trust said in a release. The easement, a permanent legal interest in the land held by Vermont Land Trust, removes development rights but allows for farming, forestry and other related uses. "We like to see a large portion of Vermont preserved for agricultural use, forestry use and open space for people," Eugene Ceglowski said. "You like to look at a meadow or a mountainside that is not dotted with houses."
