Westgate purchases recreational land

A West Brattleboro housing community finalized an agreement to purchase slightly more than 5 acres from the Vermont River Conservancy to provide recreational space for its tenants. Westgate Housing, Inc., a low-income complex with 98 units, signed the closing documents Thursday afternoon for the 5.34 acre parcel of land. The housing community has worked more than a year to raise funding to purchase property behind the Chelsea Royal Diner. August 19, 2011
