140 acres of forested land in Albermarle to be protected against development

A conservation easement was announced on Monday by the Virginia Department of Forestry that will protect 140 acres of forest from development. August 11, 2011 The conservation easement comes as the first “working” easement in Albemarle County under the VA Department of Forestry. The owners of the 140 acres of forested land along the Rocky Creek are Albert and Ann Albano. The couple said they entered into the easement to ensure the preservation of their forest land.
