Va. acquires more than 2500 acres for new wildlife management area along Mattaponi River

The state has acquired more than 2,500 acres for its new wildlife management area along the Mattaponi River. May 11, 2011 The Free Lance-Star reports that the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries bought a 766-acre for $2.4 million. The agency and several partners paid another $5.2 million for three surrounding parcels totaling 1,777 acres.
