Almost 140 acres of land transferred from city to Bainbridge park district

The Bainbridge City Council voted to transfer nearly 140 acres of open space parkland to the Bainbridge park district on Wednesday, capping a sometimes contentious five-year negotiation process. "That was a momentous occasion," Mayor Kirsten Hytopoulos said after the council's vote.
