Capitol Land Trust meeting is April 23

The public is invited to the Capitol Land Trust annual meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. April 23 at Phoenix Inn Suites, 417 Capitol Way N., Olympia.
The meeting will include a review of 2007 projects, a discussion of upcoming activities, information on how to get involved with the land trust and a vote by land trust members on board membership.

Dispose of electronic waste at event
A free electronic waste disposal event is set for noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Westfield Capital mall, 625 Black Lake Blvd. S.W., Olympia.
Sponsored by 1-800-GOT-JUNK? and MIC Total Recycle, the one-day event is designed to properly recycle and dispose of computer components, including monitors, laptops, keyboards and towers.

Author event April 21 at Orca Books
Natural history writer Stephen Arno, co-author of “Northwest Trees,” will be at Orca Books in Olympia for a slide show presentation, question-and-answer session and book-signing at 7 p.m. April 21.
This, the second edition of “Northwest Trees,” offers illustrations and historic photos of more than 250 tree species, along with the latest information on the ecology and human history associated with Northwest trees.
In their book, Arno and co-author Ramona Hammerly also illustrate 60 native Northwest tree species by shape, size, needles or leaves, and cones or seeds.
Land trust meeting set for Friday evening
The annual meeting of the South Sound Community Farm Land Trust is set for 7 p.m. Friday at The Evergreen State College Organic Farm farmhouse, 2712 Lewis Road, Olympia.
The nonprofit group formed in 1996 and works to preserve and protect farmland in South Sound.
One current project includes working with the Griffin Neighborhood Association to maintain public access to the former Eberhardt Blueberry Farm on Steamboat Island Road.
