County commissioners are accepting applications and nominations for a group that will decide what “rural character” means and how it can be preserved in Clark County.
Commissioners say they’ll use recommendations from the new Rural Lands Task Force to shape an overhaul of rural land use over the next two years.
The county is “especially interested in the perspective of people who have a strong rural heritage but do not represent any particular interest group,” according to a press release.
Rural residents can apply by submitting a letter and résumé, including their experience with rural lifestyles and enterprises, to Rural Lands, Clark County Community Planning, Public Service Center, P.O. Box 9810, Vancouver, WA, 98666-9810. Applications, nominations and questions may also be e-mailed to gordon.euler@clark.wa.gov. The deadline is 5 p.m. on April 18.
