Forest planned for 18000 acres

Permanent conservation of some 18,000 acres of forestland northeast and southeast of Shelton is the key intent of a land-use plan announced Tuesday by Mason County’s largest private landowner – Green Diamond Resource Co. August 17, 2011 Working with the Trust for Public Lands, the company plans to retire the development rights to the property through the purchase of conservation easements that will require the land to remain working forest forever.
