Nature Conservancy buys land near Dabob Bay

The Nature Conservancy has purchased 383 acres of forestland from Pope Resources to increase the amount of protected lands in the 3,000-acre Dabob Bay Natural Area in Jefferson County. July 30, 2011 The goal will be to transfer the land to the Washington Department of Natural Resources, which is managing its Dabob lands for natural values. The sale price was not disclosed, but it was based on an expert appraisals.
