Chippewa County adds to forest land

Chippewa County’s forest land has grown by 340 acres with approval of a purchase of a parcel in the town of Ruby. The county board voted Tuesday to purchase the property from Todd and Vicky L. Chase on the far northeast corner of the current county forest in Ruby by a vote of 26-1. The purchase price is the appraised value of $455,000. The county has been setting aside money in its sales tax-supported capital improvements plan for purchase of forest land adjacent to current county forest land. August 10, 2011
