Source: Wisconsin Agriculturist
March 21, 2008

If you're a rural landowner who's interested in ideas on how to manage your land and practice good stewardship, make plans to attend the sixth annual North Central Wisconsin Land Stewardship
Conference at the Prentice High School on Saturday, April 5 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Conference topics include issues of interest to both new and veteran landowners. Terry Daulton, north woods biologist, author and educator, will present the keynote address and speak about climate change in the north woods. The conference features 25 breakout sessions covering topics on woods, water, wildlife habitat and general land ownership issues. Participants will be able to view exhibits from private and public organizations that work with landowners and visit with their representatives.

The conference is sponsored by the University of Wisconsin-Extension offices, Land Conservation Departments, and Department of Natural Resources private lands foresters in Price and Taylor Counties along with the Upper Chippewa Basin Education program and Pri-Ru-Ta Resource Conservation and Development Council.

Registration includes all materials, lunch and refreshment breaks. Registration is $40 per person. For more information or to receive a printed copy of the conference brochure, please call the Price County Extension office at 715-339-2555 or the Taylor County Extension office at 715-748-3327.
