Portage County to improve wildlife habitat

A 122-acre hunting and wildlife habitat recently owned by the Portage County Parks Department is about to get a face-lift. November 01, 2010 As part of its annual county fish and game project, the department plans to spend a $2,500 annual matching grant from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, along with up to $7,500 from the county to improve wetlands at the Mill Creek Preserve Habitat in the town of Carson, Portage County Parks Director Gary Speckmann said.
