American Automation Technologies, Inc., announces the Automated Safety Hitch system, a revolutionary towing system that is changing the way horse enthusiasts and RVers hook up and transport their gooseneck trailers and 5th Wheel RVs.
Using a handheld controller, users of The Automated Safety Hitch stand by and watch as the device automatically attaches itself to the towing vehicle. Drivers back their truck or SUV to within a few feet of the trailer or RV. They simply connect two safety chains, press the switch on the controller and watch as the trailer or RV is slowly and safely pulled to and attached to the vehicle. Two safety pins are inserted into latch assemblies. An electrical cord is plugged into the vehicle and the user drives away. Detachment is just as simple and quick.
The system adds braking power and stability to the towing vehicle with a standard model steering axle able to support pin weights of up to 6,300 pounds. Models are also available with a steering axle made to handle pin weights of up to 8,000 pounds. This added trailer support allows drivers to use lighter trucks and SUVs to pull their gooseneck trailers and 5th wheel RVs. The Automated Safety Hitch extends the wheelbase of the tow vehicle, allowing for greater stability and a safer drive.
