North Central Plains Texas Land Info
The North Central Plains region offers a fertile agricultural zone that transitions between the caprock escarpment and canyons of the High Plains to its west and the hardwood forests and coastal plains of East Texas. Framed by the Colorado River to the south and the Red River along the Oklahoma border, the region is home to some of the state's largest cattle ranches and is understandably driven by the livestock and ranching industry. Large towns here include Wichita Falls as well as historic towns like Vernon in Wilbarger County.
