Located in south central Washington, centered around the community of Mattawa, Wahluke Slope AVA is one of the warmest regions in Washington. Desert heat and abundant water create excellent conditions for growing quality wine grapes.
Known primarily for red grape varieties and particularly Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah, their grapes tend to be full-bodied and ripe with pure flavor.
It is not surprising vineyards in this area have created wines with high accolades.
Wine Enthusiast awarded a 100 point rating to a wine. Wine Spectator named a wine from Wahluke Slope Wine of the Year in 2009.
