There is a good trailer he uses for visitors that is set up close to the house. A pond is also close to the house where he has it stocked with fish for his grandkids. The views of the Strawberrys are fantastic. Access to the ranch is on a paved county road.
Grant County is a conservative county with a rich history of cattle raising, logging, and mining. It is a culture of many, many years ago and that is evidenced in the helpful neighbors and people who live in the small towns. Both John Day and Prairie City schools are excellent and sporting events are very well attended. Hunting for elk, deer, and turkey are excellent and there is .a lot of room on the National Forest. Some of the largest bulls in Oregon come out of Grant County. The weather is very moderate during the winter and you could not ask for a better place to winter livestock. Summers and winters will have a lot of sun. Rainfall will be in the 16" range depending on the year.
This ranch is very clean, neat, and organized. It is close to town but not too close. It was built for easy irrigating, working cows, moving and feeding cows along with gracious living. We, as realtors and ranchers are very proud to show it
