Deer Creek, a tributary to the Colorado River, winds its way through the ranch for roughly two miles. An interior lake, which was previously used as a constant level lake, covers two miles. It has historically been managed for cattle production, hunting, and wildlife conservation. The entire ranch is fenced and has seven pastures. Two windmills and five wells are available to support the cattle and wildlife. There is an abundance of wildlife present on the ranch. A few examples include deer, turkeys, hogs, dove, quail, and duck. Rare species that exist on the ranch include the Golden-Cheeked Warbler and the Black- Capped Vireo. Approximately 1,662 acres are protected by a conservation easement that is focused on the perpetual management of the habitat that supports the rare species on the ranch. An established conservation bank is in place to help provide for the permanent conservation of the protected area.
